メディコムトイが一回500円のガチャガチャ形式で展開する、ビニールアーティストガチャ。２９弾にラインナップされた、フテコネコ５種をコンプリートしたので、２０２２年の玩具レビュー第一弾として紹介します。
画家でありソフビ作家でもあるナガモトマイさんによるフテネコの子猫バージョンです。VAGには製品を3Dスキャンして縮小したものもありますが、フテコネコは原型から1から作りなおしてあります。おそらく、原型はナガモトマイさんではなく、外注の原型師さんによるものだと思われますが、フテネコらしさを残しつつ、フテネコとは違った魅力を感じます。フテネコは、海外も含めた非常に人気ある作品ですし、５００円ガチャという間口の広さと子猫のキャッチーさに、ますますファンが増えることになりそうです。
全高約６センチ。２パーツ構成。
I've completed the five Futekoneko models in Medicom Toy's Artist Vinyl Gacha 29, which is a 500 yen gacha-style gacha. This is the first toy review of 2010.
This is a kitten version of Futeneko by painter and soft vinyl artist Mai Nagamoto, and while VAG has some products that have been scanned in 3D and then scaled down, Futeneko has been recreated from scratch. The prototype was probably made by an outsourced sculptor, not by Mai Nagamoto, but I feel that it has a different charm than the FUTENECO, while still retaining the FUTENECO style. Futeneko is very popular, including overseas, and the 500 yen price tag and the catchiness of the kittens are sure to attract more and more fans.
The figure is about 6cm tall and comes in two parts.
オリジナルのフテネコとフテコネコとの対比です。
成長した猫と子猫の違いに加え、造形のスタイルの違いも見て取れると思います。
フテネコは、バナキュラーな荒々しくも愛おしい、味わい深い表面処理が特徴ですが、フテコネコは、左右対称にぴっしりと作られて、スキのない、まさしくプロ原型師の仕事といった印象です。
しかし、こう書くとフテコネコのほうが良いのではないか？ と思うかも知れません。実際、フテコネコの方が良いっていう人もいるかもしれませんね。
でも、奇麗で美しい原型というのは、とても写真写りが良くて、実際手にすると「写真と印象が同じで面白くない」 と感じてしまう場合が僕にはあります。

However, there are times when a beautiful prototype looks so good in a photo that when you hold it in your hands, you may feel that the impression is the same as in the photo and that it is not interesting.
フテコネコの場合は、可愛らしい体型に、つり上がった目の対比が良いアクセントになっています。そして、子猫のストレートな可愛らしさに、この原型のスタイルはマッチしています。
In the case of the feline kitten, the contrast between the cute body shape and the upturned eyes is a nice accent. The style of this prototype matches the straightforward cuteness of the kitten.
ふぐりがフテネコのように極端に偏っていたら、ちょっと下品に見えてしまったかもしれません。フテネコはフテネコなりに人生（猫生）で、酸いも甘いも噛み分けて、キャンタマが偏ってしまったんですよ、きっと（笑）。
If Fuguri had been extremely biased like Futeneko, it might have looked a bit vulgar. Futeneko has had her own life (cat life), chewing on both the sweet and sour sides of life, and I'm sure she's developed a biased attitude (laughs).
柔らかそうな子猫の毛並みの表現もバッチリです。
フテネコとフテコネコのどちらにも優劣つけがたい魅力がありますね。
インタビューによりますと、フテネコ、フテコネコの裏コンセプトは「癒」。
フテネコやフテコネコが単純にかわいいから癒やされるのではなくて、その表情に垣間見える自立心、ふてぶてしさに由来するいじらしさに癒やされるのです。

右目のところに傷が入った個体でした。ちょっと残念ですが、捨て猫なので、鳥に襲われたとか、無作法で先輩野良猫に制裁加えられたとかドラマを考えるのも一興かな。
