４月に販売開始したばかりの新しいトイメーカーの紹介です。
ツバメトイさんは、デザイン、原型から成型、着色まで一貫して国内で制作する工房だそうで、少数生産ながら、チーム体制でソフビを制作されているそうです。
販売第一弾となる、ふたつのソフビの未彩色成型色バージョンを手に入れたので、まずは「あかちゃん地蔵」からレビューさせていただきます。
あかちゃん地蔵は、赤児がもつ無限大のエネルギーに畏敬の念を込め、人形作家の吉村眸氏が原型したものと紹介されています。元となったのは、粘土を焼いて作る陶人形で、これまで２０体ほど作成されたそうです。
陶人形の場合は、毎回ひとつひとつ最初から作られるので、同じモチーフでも微妙に異なると思われますが、ソフビの場合は一度原型を作れば、型が壊れるまで無限に複製できるわけです。一つ一つ異なる陶人形には唯一無二パワーが宿り、ソフビには大量生産される物量パワーが宿っているわけですね。

Here is an introduction to a new toy maker that just started selling in April.
Tsubametoy is a studio that produces sofubi in Japan, from design and prototyping to molding and coloring.
I was able to get my hands on the first two uncolored versions of the sofubi to be sold, so I'll start with a review of the Akachan Jizo.
Aka-chan Jizo is described as a prototype created by doll artist Hitomi Yoshimura in awe of the infinite energy of babies. The original doll was a ceramic doll made by firing clay, and about 20 dolls have been made so far.
In the case of ceramic dolls, each one is made from scratch, so even if the motif is the same, it is likely to be slightly different, but in the case of soft vinyl, once the prototype is made, it can be reproduced indefinitely until the mold is broken. Each ceramic doll is different and has its own unique power, while the soft vinyl has the power of mass production.

本体を開封する前に、付属していたツバメトイ新聞創刊号について。
こちらは、通販時に同封されていた情報冊子となっています。日本語版のハリー・ポッターにあるふくろう通信を思い出しました。完全手描きで、なんだか懐かしい気持ちになります。
次回作についてや、製品についての説明、ソフビの取り扱いについて、作品のリペイントやカスタムについてのルールなどが記されています。
読み物として面白いので、公式サイトなどにも掲載してほしいですね。
Before opening the package, let's take a look at the first issue of the Tsubame toy Newspaper that came with the package.
This is the information booklet that was enclosed with the mail order. It reminded me of the Owl News in the Japanese version of Harry Potter. It's completely hand-drawn, and it makes me feel nostalgic.
The booklet contains information about the next release, the product, the handling of the soft vinyl, and the rules for repainting and customizing the artwork.
It's an interesting read, and I hope it will be included on the official website.
他に付属品としては、バリもありました。
バリは、ソフビ成形時に材料を注ぐ湯口の部分で、どうしても出てしまう不要部分で、通常は廃棄品です。
「なんで？！」 と思ったんですけど、その謎は、ツバメトイ新聞にかかれていました。

未塗装を買い上げの人に、塗装の試し塗り用に特典として付属するという粋なはからいです。僕は未塗装のソフビを二種購入したので、２つ付いてきたってわけですね。

早速、塗装テストしてみました。うまくいくかな ……ちょっと、普通の塗装方法じゃないので、テストしたかったんです。ちなみに、このバリは次回紹介予定のくまみみちゃんの足のパーツのバリのようです。使用パーツと同じか、それより大きいパーツです。キレイに引き抜くには、これだけ大きな湯口が必要なんですね……。

頬の柔らかそうな質感、短い腕のぷくぷくとした感じが愛らしい。

人形作家の原型ということで、淡い凹凸で造形された繊細な質感が、僕にはとても新鮮でした。叙情的というのかな、詩的というのかな。
As a prototype for a doll artist, the delicate texture of the doll sculpted with light irregularities was very fresh to me. It's lyrical or poetic, I guess.
