前回に続き、中国のトイデザイナーCOAL DOG さんのCoral boy[瑚童]を紹介します。
Continuing from the previous article, I would like to introduce the Coral boy
全高4.5センチのミニサイズ、2パーツ構成で、頭部がクリアレッド、胴体がが水色の成型色となっています。
Coralとは珊瑚のことなので、珊瑚を擬人化したキャラクターのようです。どこかのイベントでこの作品を見たことがあり、気になっていました。

珊瑚って面白い生物ですよね。動物なのに、ほとんど動かず、植物のような生体をしています。

薬用（目薬とかかな？）の袋を使用しているようです。面白いアイディア！
ヘッダー裏には、解剖図のイラストが描かれています。目のような感覚期間があり、頭部の枝分かれした部分にまで神経が通っているようです。

On the back of the header is an illustration of the anatomy. There is a sensory period that resembles an eye, and the nerves seem to run down to the branching parts of the head.
頭部の部分が珊瑚になっています。宝石として珍重される珊瑚は、長い歴史があり、ローマ時代から護符として愛用され、海にちなむことから船乗りや血のような赤い色から妊婦の厄除け、中世の夢判断においては夢に珊瑚が現れると病から回復する予兆であるとされました。……意識した訳ではないのですが、今の時期にぴったりですね。

繊細な手の造形と、プリプリのお尻がカワイイです。

ヘッダーのイラストには目が描かれていましたが、ソフビの方には目がありません。目のないキャラクターってどこか不思議な印象をもたせてくれて、自分は好きです。
The header illustration had an eye, but the soft vinyl one does not. I like characters without eyes because they give a strange impression to me.
