引き続き、ぶたのはなさんの10月販売分の紹介です。
今回は、ウルトラマンに登場するレッドキングです。ウルトラシリーズにおいて、具体的に強いと注釈される怪獣で、大変人気のあり、後の作品にも度々登場します。
とある文献によりますと、六角形の幾何学的な美しい体皮は強靭で、恵まれた身体能力を誇りますが、それにかまけて超能力（バルタン星人の分身的な？）を得る進化が遅れてしまい、個体数を減らしてしまうことになったといいます。サーベルタイガー的な感じでしょうか。ロマンありますね。
デザインは、ウルトラマンを手掛けた成田亨氏。名前に反して、赤くないのは、もともとウルトラマンの企画段階の名前であるレッドマンより由来するためとか。主人公の名前を引き継ぐレッドキングは、作品を代表する怪獣であることを最初から定められていたのかもしれません。
今回購入したぶたのはなさんのどれも素晴らしい作品の中で、箱から出して思わず息を飲んだ作品です。
全高約13センチ、6パーツ構成、成型色はカーキ系色（日本の色見本で見ると鶯茶色に相当する感じの色です）。

This time, it's the Red King from Ultraman. In the Ultraman series, the Red King is a monster that is specifically described as strong.
According to some literature, its beautiful hexagonal geometric skin is strong, monstrous and tough, but its blessed physical performance delayed its evolution to acquire super powers (like an alter ego of Bartan?). Of all the works by Buta no Hana that I purchased this time, this is the one that took my breath away when I took it out of the box.
The figure is about 13 centimeters tall, made up of six parts, and molded in a khaki-like color (the color looks like the equivalent of warbler brown in Japanese color samples).

赤、緑、金色の色鮮やかな彩色、手仕事によって偏執的に配置された六角形のウロコの凝縮感に圧倒されます。

全方位一分のスキもありません。怪獣の体皮にはいろいろなパターンがありますが、自分はこの六角形のウロコが一番好きで、そこにも惹かれます。

このウロコは、原作デザインにおいて、先端ほどに小さく造形されて怪獣の巨大さをより強調しているそうです。ソフビにおいてもその効果は発揮されています。
In the original design, the scales were sculpted smaller at the tip to emphasize the giant size of the monster. This effect is also demonstrated in the soft vinyl.
塗装は、緑がスプレーで、金色が筆塗りになっています。ウロコの凹凸の際を明確に塗り分ける効果と、筆塗り部分はあえて濃淡が出るようなラフさで、味わい深い塗装がなされています。この塗り分けは、ちょっと普通はできない名人芸という感じです。
The green is spray-painted and the gold is brush-painted. In addition to the effect of clearly distinguishing the uneven edges of the scales, the roughness of the brush strokes gives the painting a deep flavor. This paint job is a masterpiece that cannot be done normally.
龍や蛇をモチーフにしたという頭部。鼻先が短く、垂直方向を強調した顔なのは、レッドキングの特徴的なスタイルだと思います。
The head is said to be based on a dragon or snake motif. The nose is short and the face emphasizes the vertical direction, which I think is a characteristic style of the Red King.
潰れた鼻は、まさしく豚の鼻。

黒目がちな両目は、普段のぶたのはなさんの作品よりも精度高めな感じです。もちろん、いつもの作品が雑と貶したい訳ではないことを、ファンの方ならご理解していただけていると思います！ 作品ごとにふさわしい造形・塗装スタイルを変化させているということだと思います。
Both eyes, which tend to be black, are more precise than in Buta no Hana's usual works. Of course, I'm sure fans understand that I'm not trying to disparage her usual works as messy! I think it means that she changes the modeling and painting style appropriate for each work.
レッドキングのスーツは、頭部以外をアボラスに流用され、その後さらに頭部を交換されて二代目レッドキングになったそうです。
