７月に抽選販売されたレオソフビ坊やさんのエゴです。組み換えで偶像怪獣にパーツが使われていたので、てっきり偶像怪獣の一種かと思っていたのですが、エゴという単体のキャラのようです。久々に完全体のエゴとして抽選販売され、好みのカラーだったので、応募、当選しました。やったぜ！

全高約３０センチの大型ソフビ、７パーツ構成、成型色はグレーがかった肌色でした。

ヘッダーはおなじみの虎雀さんによる美麗なイラスト。

偶像怪獣イドラとモジャゴリラがバトル。女の子は、偶像怪獣と交感可能な存在なんですが、フェアリーって偶像怪獣ごとに存在するのかしら。

大きいソフビは、それだけでテンションが上がりますね！

エゴとは、ラテン語で「わたし」　を意味しています。他にも「自我」　や「自尊心」　という意味もありますし、天パーの天才パイロットが言ったみたいに、「身勝手な主義主張」　みたいな意味もあります。

大胆な解釈をするなら、エゴはレオさん自身の自画像的作品で、己の身のうちをさらけ出したかのような作品ではないでしょうか。

Ego means "I" in Latin. It can also mean "ego," "self-esteem," or, as the genius pilot said, "selfishness.

A bold interpretation would be that Ego is a self-portrait of Leo, a work that seems to expose his own self.

モチーフについては、浅学で検討がつきませんが、大仏的なイメージと魔人的なエッセンスをいだきました。

Although I am too inexperienced to know the motifs, I was inspired by the image of the Great Buddha and the essence of a demon.

第一の顔は、ビカビカと光る両眼のインパクトがすごい。

大仏のようなカーリーヘアーは逆立ち、顔に筋肉はバキバキに隆起しています。

顔の各パーツが象嵌されたかのようなデザイン。

こぶりな口がキュートです。

The curly hair, like that of a large Buddha, is inverted, and the muscles in the face are buckled and ridged.

Each part of the face is designed as if inlaid.

The small mouth is cute.

第２の顔は三つ目。

ヒルが這いずり回ってできたかのような、不気味な顔です。

入り組んだテクスチャーが見どころ。

The intricate texture is a highlight.

塗装は、銀を包んだ上に、ピンク、黄、緑、青などのクリアを吹いて、その上から黒で包んで、拭き取りを施すという感じと思われます。カラフルで有りながら、いぶし銀っぽい渋みがあり、面白い塗装表現です。レオさんの塗装は、毎回とても凝ってるんですが、人間味あふれ、インディーズソフビらしいアングラな雰囲気がヒシヒシと感じられる素晴らしい仕事です。

腕はすこし幾何学的な図案です。

魂が体にむかって奔流となしているかのように感じました。

The arms are a bit geometric in design.

I felt as if the soul was rushing toward the body.

下半身は3パーツ構成。両足が動きます。が、くるみ塗装なので、少々可動に神経を使いますね。

The lower body consists of three parts. Both legs are movable. However, since it is painted with a walnut finish, it is a bit tricky to move it.

つぶつぶのテクスチャがすごい。

なにか根源的な要素が、腕の魂と結びついて、世界を作っていくというようなストーリーを連想したのですが、こじつけかなぁ。

I thought of a story in which some fundamental element is connected to the soul of the arm and creates the world, but I wonder if it is a complication.
