7月に抽選販売されたスカルトイズさんとリアルヘッドさんのコラボ作品ドクロザウラーです。ザウラー系は初入手。在りし頃、オフ会でネクストザウラーやドラコザウラー、もちろんドクロザウラーも見せてもらって、びっくりしたのはボリュームと、表面のザラザラとした荒々しい質感でした。
今回は二重成形で、一層目の蓄光は薄く焼かれていて、二層目の黒が裏から透けて、ガリガリと削られた表面を引き立てています。蓄光や乳白色にすると、細かい凹凸が見えにくくなってしまうんですが、こんな方法があったとは！
This is a skull-saurer, a collaborative work by Skulltoys and Realhead, which was sold by lottery in July. This is my first acquisition of the Saurer series. Back in the day, I was shown the Next Saurer, Draco Saurer, and of course the Skull Saurer at an off-line meeting, and I was surprised by the volume and the rough texture of the surface.
This time, it was double molded, with the first layer of phosphorescent light burned thin, and the second layer of black showing through from the back, complementing the skinny surface. The luminescent and milky white colors make it hard to see the fine bumps, but I didn't know there was such a way!
全高約23センチ、6パーツ構成、成型色は蓄光と黒の二重成形。

太い手足、たっぷりとした胴体。惚れ惚れとするスタイルです。

二重成形ですが、いわゆるフレッシュミート成形的な技法で、一層目を薄く成形しているようで、ところどころゾルが溜まったり中垂れしたりして、厚みが違うところができて、マーブル模様をつくっています。

口元はネクストザウラーに似ていて、目は6つあり、頭より大きい角が生えています。

目の部分は赤でフリーハンド一筆入魂の筆塗りされています。

胴体は肋骨が鋭角に盛り上がり、堅牢な鎧のようになっています。
それにしても、肩から肋にかけての模様が美しくないですか。これが自然にできたって素晴らしいなぁ！

ザウラーボディの足の付き方が好きです。股間と膝の位置が同じって(笑)……なんかすごく良い。

ドクロックスマンとならべて。高さは２センチ程度しか変わらない(ソフビの２センチは大きいですが)ですが、ボリュームが倍ほど違います。

僕は蓄光ソフビが好きなんですが、作品・モチーフによっては、ディテールが少し損なわれてしまう部分があるのは、一つ残念な点でした。作家さんによっては、自分の作風には合わないからと、蓄光やクリア成形を封印している人もいます。
この成形方法は、蓄光でディテールも失われず、僕の中では革新的な作品になりました。
I like photoluminescent soft vinyl, but one thing I regret is that depending on the work or motif, some details may be lost a bit. Some artists seal off phosphorescent or clear molding because it doesn't fit their style.
This molding method is innovative in my opinion because it is luminescent and no details are lost.
