ゴガメジラー（2004年第一期発売）は、漫画家・アニメ作家・ソフビ人形原型師である安楽安作さんのソフビデビュー作にして代表作。もともとは自作アニメーションに登場する怪獣で、その名前はゴジラとガメラをオマージュ・リスペクトして名付けられました。一時体調を崩されて、表立った活動がしばらくなかったのですが、メディコム・トイとタッグを組むことで復活を果たされました。

Gogamezilla (first release in 2004) is the debut soft vinyl work of cartoonist, animator, and soft vinyl doll prototype artist Yasusaku Anraku, and is his signature work. Originally a monster that appeared in homemade animation, it was named in homage and respect to Godzilla and Gamera. He had been out of action for a while due to his health condition, but he made a comeback by teaming up with Medicom Toy.

実に堂々としたプロポーションです。工場による塗装も良いです。
作家御本人は、勝手にオマージュとリスペクトを押し付けたパチ怪獣であることに引け目を感じている様子ですが、僕の個人としては、後に発表されるオリジナル作品よりも独自性を感じています（オリジナル作品はアノニマスな、普遍的なモチーフに狙って選んだのだと思いますが）。
The proportions are really imposing. The painting by the factory is also good.
The artist himself seems to feel a sense of guilt at the fact that he is a Pachis monster who has taken the liberty of imposing homage and respect, but I personally feel that it is more unique than the original works that were later released (although I think he chose the original works for their anonymity and universal motifs).

ブルマァクやマルサンのソフビをお手本として学んだ、と語ってらっしゃいますが、質感がそれらそのものといった感じです。この質感は、ヴィンテージ特有のものだと思っていました。なんと言ったら良いのか、艶消しとも違う、少しホコリを被ったかのような艶のないテクスチャをしています。自分のコレクションには、つるつると磨かれたものが多いので新鮮に感じました。
The entire body is covered in stiff, taut detail.
He says that he learned from the soft vinyl models of Bulmaak and Marsan, and the texture is just like that. I thought this texture was unique to the vintage. I don't know how to describe it, it's not even matte, it's got a lusterless texture as if it's covered in a little dust. I felt fresh because I have a lot of slippery, polished stuff in my collection.
この作品で、一番びっくりしたのは、分割についてです。
カンチャクで嵌合してあるのですが、なんと頭部と両足以外はほぼ動きません。
7つもパーツわけされているのに、ポージングで大きく変化をもたらすのは、首振りだけなのが衝撃的でした。

と、非常に面白いギミックが満載されています。

手にもって遊ぶとき、ソフビそのものは動かないけれど、想像力でそれ以上の変化を補う、ということなんだと思います。
前に書いた記事で、ソフビの需要な要素は、可動ではなく手に持って遊ぶこと、と書きましたが、その答えに至った作品でした。
When you hold it in your hand, the soft vinyl itself doesn't move, but your imagination makes up for the changes.

最後に、あんまり気持ちの良い話ではないのですが、ソフビコレクターとして、放ってはおけないトピックだったので、メディコム・トイによる安楽安作さんのプロデュースについて語りたいと思います。後からなら何でも言えるけれど……。
前述の通り、ゴガメジラーは安作さん個人名義で発表していた当時は、大変なプレミアム価格がついていました。しかし、メディコム・トイとの提携により、ひろく一般に買えるようになり、その結果、二次市場では定価割れして、かなり安く購入することができます。当時は、メディコムトイと組むことによって、欲しい人の多くが買えるのは良いことだ、と僕も信じておりました。でも、インディーズソフビにおいてはそれは、作家生命に大きなリスクをかけてしまうことになるのです。僕自身、いつでも買えそうだから、今は財布が厳しいから次回検討しよう、とスルーしてしまいました。
ある作品がプレ値だったとして、その値段で欲しいとするのは、当然ごく一部の人だけなんです。欲しい人の内訳としては、純粋なファン、プレ値だからこそ欲しい人、転売屋となります。その作品が、受注販売された場合、プレ値だから欲しい人と転売屋は離れてしまいます。価格崩壊、作品の寿命を縮めてしまう可能性があります。受注販売は、これが最後の販売という段階か、世間に認知された、もっとポピュラーになりうる題材で行ったほうが良いようです。
メディコムトイとの提携によって、おそらく安楽安作さんはメディコムトイにソフビ作家としての自分を救われた、という気持ちがあったのだと思いますが、それが作家として幸福なことだったのか、判断に困る部分があります。
ただし、ゴガメジラーの素晴らしさそのものは疑いようがありません。数がすくないだけで、あれほどのプレ値がつくはずがありませんから。安楽安作さんの才能は本物でしょう。今後も活動に期待です！

As mentioned above, at that time when Gogamezilla had announced it in Mr. Ansaku's personal name, a very premium price was attached. However, thanks to a partnership with Medicom Toys, it has become widely available to the general public, and as a result, it can be bought quite cheaply, with the list price broken in the secondary market. At the time, I also believed it was a good thing that many people who wanted it could buy it by pairing it with a Medicom toy. But in indie sofubi, that would put the life of the writer at great risk. I, myself, could always afford it, so I passed it off as a consideration next time because my wallet is tight right now.
If a certain work was pre-priced, naturally only a small percentage of people would want it at that price. The breakdown of those who want it would be pure fans, those who want it just because it's pre-priced, and resellers. If the work is sold by order, people who want it because it's pre-priced will be separated from those who resell it. Price collapse, which could shorten the life of the work. It seems to me that it would be better to do sales by order, either at the last sales stage, or on a more popular subject that is well known.
By partnering with Medicom Toy, Yasusaku Anraku probably felt that Medicom Toy had saved him as a soft vinyl artist, but it's hard to judge whether that was a happy thing for him as a writer.
However, there is no doubting the awesomeness of the Gogame Zillah itself. Just because it's so small in number, it can't have been pre-valued that much. Yasuaku Yasuaku's talent must be real. We look forward to more activities in the future!
